1 person airlifted to hospital after Highway 135 crash

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded Monday to a three-vehicle collision in Santa Maria that resulted in two people injured.

According to the CHP, the crash took place around 10:07 a.m. Monday on southbound Highway 135 at Goodwin Road near Waller Park.

One patient was airlifted by CalStar to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara for moderate injuries and another was transported via an AMR ambulance to Marian Region Medical Center, Santa Barbara County Fire Department Captain Daniel Bertucelli said.

One of the vehicles rolled over and another had damage and two flat tires on their left-hand side, according to the CHP.

Bertucelli said no significant extrication was required.

The cause of the incident is under investigation, Bertucelli said.
