Bicyclist injured in suspected hit and run in Nipomo

A bicyclist suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning after reportedly being struck by at least one vehicle in Nipomo, according to the CHP.

A CHP spokeswoman said Tuesday afternoon that two vehicles were believed to be involved in the incident in the 1300 block of Pomerory Road near Hidden Ranch Way in Nipomo at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday.

The CHP reported on its website that a passing motorist who did not witness the crash saw a downed bicyclist on the ground waving for help.

Scanner traffic indicated that officials were searching for a motorist who reportedly hit the bicyclist, but the CHP spokeswoman said later in the day that two cars were determined to have been involved.

The bicyclist suffered only minor injuries and declined transport to a local hospital.

A search for the suspect vehicles was called off, the CHP said.
