$2,500 in liquor stolen from SLO BevMo! in burglary

San Luis Obispo police say about $2,500 worth of liquor was stolen from BevMo! on Froom Ranch Way early Sunday morning.
San Luis Obispo police say about $2,500 worth of liquor was stolen from BevMo! on Froom Ranch Way early Sunday morning.

Expensive liquor was stolen from BevMo! when the San Luis Obispo store was burglarized early Sunday morning, said Sgt. Fred Mickel of the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

An estimated $2,500 worth of liquor was taken from the store at 1502 Froom Ranch Way in San Luis Obispo about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Mickel said. No cash was stolen.

Management from BevMo! told police that similar burglaries have occurred at other BevMo! stores in the state, Mickel said. The investigation is ongoing.

BevMo! is at least the fifth San Luis Obispo business to be robbed or broken into in the past week.

Electronics equipment was stolen from CORE Dance Studio earlier in the week. Batch, a downtown dessert shop, was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night. Burglars broke into Lincoln Market and Deli and G. Brothers Smokehouse early Friday morning and stole safes and cash registers.

Mickel said some of the robberies may be connected, however the BevMo! incident does not appear to be related.
