Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea on Thursday provided the first detailed account of the shooting at the Feather River Adventist School, about 55 miles north of Sacramento, which left two kindergartners severely injured.
Honea identified Glenn Litton, 56, as the shooter and revealed details about his potential motive and criminal history. He also released a chronology of the hours and moments before the first gunshots.

Wednesday morning, Litton is near a Motel 6 in Chico.
7:46 a.m., Litton catches a bus in Chico.
8:30 a.m., Litton gets off a bus in Oroville carrying a large duffel bag.
10:46 a.m., Litton goes to a Raley’s grocery store in Oroville. He buys energy drinks and leaves the store 10 minutes later.
11:38 a.m., Litton requests an Uber under the name “Mark Hansen.”
11:57 a.m., Litton is picked up by an Uber driver at a bus stop near the Raley’s. He instructs the driver to take him to Feather River Adventist School.
12:11 p.m., Litton is dropped off at the school. He then meets with a school staff member. Litton uses the name “Michael Sanders” and tells the official he is interested in enrolling a child at the school. Litton receives a tour. Afterward, he was seen walking toward a bathroom before the gunshots begin.
1:08 p.m., 911 calls are made to the California Highway Patrol regarding an active shooting.
1:09 p.m., The calls are transferred to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, which then tells available deputies to go to the scene.
1:10 p.m., A CHP officer arrives and sees Litton with an apparent gunshot wound. A firearm is lying next to him.
1:14 p.m. Butte County deputies arrive. They and CHP officers look for additional shooters, help the two students who are wounded, and then move students to the school’s gymnasium.
1:31 p.m., Students are taken by bus to a local church to be picked up by their families.
