Vacant boutique in downtown SLO has a new tenant. Here’s what’s different
A new clothing store has moved into a prime location in downtown San Luis Obispo.
Rebelle and Bloom opened Feb. 12 in Avanti’s old spot on the corner of Higuera and Chorro streets.
The boutique sells seasonal clothing and accessories, where most items are hues of pinks, blues and whites store employee Asia Jade Hagans told The Tribune.
It receives new shipments of clothes every week, Hagans said.
“It’s always great to see a new store,” Hagans said. “Obviously it’s sad that Avanti is gone because they were here for so long, but I think other stores having the opportunity to grow and expand in SLO is great.”
Avanti closed at 796 Higuera St. in September, and cited no reason for the abrupt closure. Five months later, the new clothing boutique moved in to the high-profile spot.
Rebelle and Bloom’s price range caters to college students and younger, selling its clothing between $25 to $35 for most items.
“We try and keep our clothes affordable,” Hagans said. “We do have some clothes that are less than $20, it just depends on what you’re looking for. Most of the clothes are from the Rebelle and Bloom brand, so they’re able to keep it in that price range since they make most of their clothes.”
