Construction problem stalled work on new hilltop hotel in Paso Robles. When will it open?

Work on a hilltop hotel development in Paso Robles is moving forward after a brief delay during the winter due to a leaky roof.

A new Marriott Residence Inn, a 128-room extended-stay hotel, is being built on Vine Street and Highway 46 West. Construction began on the project in late 2023.

The hotel was originally slated to be completed by 2024, but the project “slowed over the winter due to some roof leaks,” Paso Robles community development director Warren Frace told The Tribune.

Frace said those leaks were resolved in the spring, however. Since then, work has been moving forward on the project.

As of Monday, Frace said work was focused on finishing the exterior stucco and completing interior improvements.

The hotel is now slated to open in early 2025.

The Residence Inn is expected to include studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom rooms.

Rates for the new hotel haven’t been announced yet, but at the nearby Courtyard Paso Robles — also owned by Marriott — prices range between $176 and $352 a night depending on the size of the room.

Meanwhile, the nearest Residence Inn in Goleta charges between $380 and $589 per night, according to its website.
