Four San Luis Obispo County businesses are among the fastest-growing companies in the United States, according to Inc. magazine’s latest list.

The online magazine releases an annual list, known as the Inc. 5000, that ranks the fastest-growing private businesses in the nation.

According to Inc., this year’s honorees reported a median growth of 208% year-over-year and a total combined revenue of $317 billion, in addition to adding more than 874,000 jobs.

Of the 5,000 businesses honored this year, 3,168 were repeat honorees. A total of 498 newly founded businesses were among those making their first appearances on the list.

Another repeat honoree, Precision Construction Services also made its third consecutive appearance on the Inc. 5000 list this year, coming in at No. 1,635.

With a three-year growth rate of 318%, the company was also recognized as the fastest-growing construction firm in the San Luis Obispo area, according to a Precision news release.

“When we started out 11 years ago, the idea of making the Inc. 5000 was an exciting idea — we never imagined making the list three years in a row,” Karl Vaillancourt, one of Precision’s three principals, said in the release. “Our ability to maintain this pace of growth is a testament to our amazing team and all the work they’ve put into making our company effective, dynamic and scalable.”

Precision Construction Services recently completed construction on a 125,000-square-foot wine facility in Paso Robles, built with energy-efficient insulated concrete panels and roof, three water retention ponds that recycle water used in processing for irrigation, and a state-of-the-art robotic racking system that can handle 575,000 cases of wine.

The recognition caps off a great year for the construction company.

In May, the Small Business Administration named the company as its 2024 Prime Contractor of the Year for the Pacific Region of the United States. Meanwhile, in July the company won the Pacific Coast Business Times’ Spirit of Small Business Award for its work at Vandenberg and contributions to the Central Coast community.

“The market has changed in many ways over the past few years, but our business model has been resilient enough to handle the pandemic and its knock-on effects,” Vaillancourt said in the release. “Growth, while generally a good thing, also presents its own challenges. Being able to navigate all of this and scale during this period is really worth celebrating.”

Estate 360 Estate Sales & Downsizing

Making its first appearance on the Inc. 5000 list, Estate 360 ranked at No. 2,428 this year with a reported three-year growth of 214%.

The estate sales company has previously been included on Inc. Magazine’s extended Regionals Pacific list, where it came in at No. 92.

According to its website, Estate 360 “takes the ordinary, antiquated business of estate sales and creates extraordinary results.”

It said the company’s online process “creates an efficient, safe, transparent and profitable way to downsize or settle an estate.”

A Tribune request for comment to Estate 360 management was not immediately returned Wednesday.
