These 3 SLO County businesses are among the fastest growing in the United States
Three San Luis Obispo County businesses are among the fastest-growing in the United States, according to Inc. Magazine’s latest list.
The online magazine releases an annual list, known as the Inc. 5000, that ranks the fastest-growing businesses in the nation. According to Inc., the honorees reported a median growth of 230% year-over-year, a total combined revenue of $317.5 billion and more than 1 million jobs added.
Among the businesses honored on the list, 695 were newly founded while 945 were repeat honorees.
San Luis Obispo County often has several businesses on the list, and this year is no exception: Precision Construction Services, HiView Solutions and Digital Market Media all made the Inc. list for 2022, reporting three-year growth rates of between 257% and a whopping 2,027%.

Precision Construction Services

In it’s first-ever appearance on the Inc. 5000, Precision Construction Services was ranked as the No. 1 fastest-growing construction business in California, and the fastest-growing business in San Luis Obispo all together with a reported three-year growth rate of 2,027%.
According to a news release, the company has been a part of a number of notable construction projects around the Central Coast, including building rocket launch pads at Vandenberg Space Force Base, amenities at the Pismo Preserve and a storage facility for Justin Winery in Paso Robles. It has also worked on the world’s first hyperloop tunnel for SpaceX, the first steel fiber-reinforced concrete transit tunnel in the United States, support facilities at the Brownsville Space Launch Complex in Texas and numerous historical restorations, such as the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park and the U.S. Coast Guard Station at Humboldt Bay, according to the release.
“Creating a thriving business on the Central Coast has been a priority for us from Day One,” co-owner Karl Vaillancourt said in the release. “We wanted to have a positive impact on the community we love while pushing our industry forward. Creating jobs and benefiting the region both economically and socially is something we take great pride in. Building a service company based in SLO with the ability to compete both within and outside of the region is a dream come true.”
According to the release, Precision is “a full-service commercial construction firm, offering design-build, general contracting and construction management services to clients ranging from headline-making private aerospace firms and real estate developers, to federal, state and local government agencies and nonprofits.”
The company is owned by Vaillancourt, Jared Malapit and Erik Wright.
HiView Solutions

Another local business making its first appearance on the list this year is HiView Solutions, which ranked No. 543.
According to its website, HiView is a business products and services company which specializes in products including Google Workspace, Chrome Enterprise, Google Voice, and more. HiView supports organizations across the private and public sectors, delivering services in both English and Spanish.
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized among the fastest-growing U.S. companies,” HiView founder and director of sales Miles Hischier said in a blog post on the ranking. “Our efforts to differentiate ourselves within the Google Cloud Partner ecosystem have paid off.”
According to the listing, HiView reported 1,154% growth over the past three years.
Hischier said he attributes the company’s recent growth to “our company’s focus on earning long-term customers.
“We help ‘build your business for tomorrow,’ and this forward-thinking approach to serving customers is resonating well in the market,” he said.
HiView also ranked No. 47 overall in the business products and services sector, and No. 83 among California businesses.
Digital Market Media

The only repeat local business to make the Inc. ranking in 2022 was Digital Market Media, an advertising and marketing business based in San Luis Obispo.
The business ranked No. 2,276 on this year’s list, moving down from its No. 1,083 ranking in 2021.

According to Inc., Digital Market Media reported 257% growth in the past three years.
Carolan said the business has more than 140 remote workers, and “over 96% of the company comes from homegrown talent through our entry level sales position.”
