A new, mid-range hotel is under construction in Paso Robles on a high-profile hilltop property overlooking Highway 46 West and the Salinas Riverbed.

The Marriott Residence Inn will have 228 rooms and four stories, Paso Robles Community Development Director Warren Frace said.

The Residence Inn caters to longer stays and has studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options, according to the hotel website.

Rates for the new hotel haven’t been announced yet, but at the nearby Residence Inn in Goleta, they range from $200 to $450 a night depending on the size of the room.

Frace said the hotel will be finished sometime in 2024. “I’m not exactly sure what time of the year but they’re well along with that project,” he said.

The Residence Inn is one of multiple hotel projects in the works for Paso Robles to accommodate growing tourism in the area, Frace said.

“It’s one of a couple of hotels that we expect on that south side of town, on the 46 West corridor,” Frace said.

Downtown Paso Robles also will soon host a new luxury hotel, the AVA Hotel on Pine Street.
