Popular TV show ‘This is Us’ filmed an episode in Paso Robles. Did you watch it?
Local fans of TV’s “This is Us” may have recognized some familiar scenery in a recent episode of the NBC family drama.
Tuesday night’s episode, titled “Day of the Wedding,” featured the Pearson family gathering to celebrate the wedding of daughter Kate Pearson, played by actress Chrissy Metz.
The backdrop was the Allegreto Vineyard Resort, a high-end, European-inspired hotel in Paso Robles complete with a restaurant, spa and wine tasting room.
On Tuesday’s episode, the Pearsons pose for wedding photos in Allegreto’s Piazza Magica, with its showstopping fountain, while the reception was likely filmed in the resort’s Veneto Ballroom.
Although Paso Robles wasn’t mentioned by name in the episode, wine was a central motif.
Randall Pearson, played by actor Sterling K. Brown, can be seen sipping pinot noir and loading cases of wine for the wedding.
Film crews from NBC were spotted at Allegretto Vineyard Resort in March.
Although winery representatives said then they were unable to comment on activities happening at the hotel, The Tribune spotted film trailers with the “TIU” initials and logo in the resort parking lot.
Production crews are a somewhat familiar sight in San Luis Obispo County.
Representatives from the San Luis Obispo County Film Commission told The Tribune in March that more than 24 productions were shot in the county in 2020, then the most recent data available.
