Market once voted SLO’s best new restaurant is forced to close due to the pandemic
Farmhouse Corner Market has announced it will close its organic restaurant and market in San Luis Obispo this week.
“Due to the current situation with the global pandemic, Farmhouse Corner Market is just not one of the businesses that made it through,” the business wrote in a Facebook post on Friday.
The Facebook announcement received more than 40 comments from community members mourning the loss of another local eatery.
“I am deeply sorry,” wrote local chef Maegen Loring of Creston. “I loved enjoying my time with your wonderful food whenever I made it to SLO. Sending all of you at the farmhouse positive prayers and thoughts.”
The restaurant will be hosting a liquidation sale beginning on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
Farmhouse Corner Market voted Best New Restaurant
Farmhouse Corner Market opened in June 2019 at 1025 Farmhouse Lane, near the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport and Tolosa Winery.
The business was co-owned by Will and Kari Torres and Ryan and Leanne Harris, according to a past Tribune report.
Will Torres was also the executive chef of the restaurant.
In 2020, New Times readers voted Farmhouse Corner Market the best new restaurant, best kid-friendly restaurant and best Ccaterer in the county, according to the restaurant’s website.
“From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank each and every one of you who has supported us over the years,” the owners wrote on Facebook post.
