Here’s when the new Jamba and Auntie Anne’s stores in Atascadero will open
Craving a smoothie or a soft pretzel? Atascadero’s newest restaurants will offer both, starting this weekend.
The city’s new Jamba smoothie shop and Auntie Anne’s pretzel stand will open at 7 a.m. Friday at El Camino Real and Highway 41, according to Jeff Olds, who will run the eateries with his wife, Linda Ozawa Olds.
“(Linda) and I are super excited to open this store in Atascadero,” Jeff Olds wrote in an email. “We have been looking for the right spot for over a decade, and this location finally got developed and felt like that perfect place.”
The Olds already own five Jamba locations on the Central Coast and five in Bakersfield. The couple have been franchisees for nearly 20 years.
Fresno developer Sam Bogdanovich of BogMar Properties LLC built the three-space property on a vacant site that was previously home to a gas station.
The Atascadero Planning Commission approved the project in 2017.
In addition to the restaurants, the development includes an AT&T phone store in the third retail space, which is already open.
Jamba and Auntie Anne’s are both owned by Focus Brands Inc. The two Atascadero stores will employ 25 people.
The restaurants will serve up smoothies and pretzels, as well as bowls, oatmeal, coffee, hot chocolate and breakfast sandwiches with fresh pretzel buns.
Auntie Anne’s will offer free pretzel samples throughout the month for customers who want to try out different flavors.
“This is the first West Coast location to feature a combination of Jamba and Auntie Anne’s fresh-baked pretzels,” Olds wrote. “We love Jamba pretzels and PB Banana Toast, but the quality and variety of options that Auntie Anne’s offers takes it to a new level!”
