Man with gun robs Atascadero Walgreens

An unidentified man clad in a hooded sweatshirt and carrying a handgun robbed a clerk at a Walgreens in Atascadero on Thursday night and reportedly made off with about $300.

About 10:53 p.m., the man walked into Walgreens on the 8000 block of El Camino Real and demanded cash from the front clerk, according to a post on the Atascadero Police Department’s Facebook page. The clerk complied and handed over about $300 in cash.

The man then fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. The department says he appeared to be an adult white male and was wearing a black sweatshirt with white insignia, blue jeans and black shoes.
