A Paso Robles man was arrested in South Pasadena on suspicion of committing sexual acts with children and possessing child pornography, according to information from law enforcement officials.
It was his second arrest involving lewd acts and child pornography in a little more than two weeks.
Jason Robert Porter, 44, was arrested by the Paso Robles Police Department in South Pasadena and was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail about 1 a.m. Saturday, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office.
He remained in custody on Sunday on $7 million bond and potentially faces 23 charges stemming from the arrest, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The potential charges include lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, oral copulation or sexual penetration with a victim 10 years old or younger, possession of matter depicting a minor engaged in sexual conduct, and other unlisted offenses.
Paso Robles Police Department Lt. Tim Murphy confirmed that officers had arrested Porter, but he declined to provide further details about the case. Murphy said the department would be releasing more information about the arrest, likely by Monday.
“We’re still compiling information,” Murphy said Saturday evening. “It would be premature to put anything out this second.”
Porter was previously taken into custody when police responded to reports of a disturbance at a home about 10:55 p.m. June 28 in the 1000 block of Vista Grande Street in Paso Robles.
When officers arrived, they found a 6-year-old girl’s mother had interrupted Porter taking lewd photographs of her daughter, according to a Paso Robles Police Department news release.
Porter was visiting the home at the time, the release stated.
After protecting her daughter, the woman alerted others in the house, which led to a disturbance outside the home, according to the release. An investigation revealed Porter allegedly committed a lewd act with the same girl at a different time, police said.
Porter was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography and committing a lewd act with a child under 14, police said. Porter was booked into County Jail, but he was later released after posting bail.
