Paso Robles salvage yard fire causes $6,000 in damage

A fire in a salvage yard near Paso Robles on Monday afternoon damaged multiple cars and caused thousands of dollars in damage.

Cal Fire crews responded to a blaze near Wellsona Road and Highway 101 about 2:10 p.m. A passer-by reported seeing smoke billowing over the salvage yard’s fence, and firefighters arrived to find vehicles in flames, according to Cal Fire.

Crews from multiple agencies responded to the blaze, including Cal Fire, the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services and the Templeton Fire Department.

Fifteen vehicles were damaged by the fire, and a quarter of an acre of vegetation was scorched. Total damage amounted to $6,000, according to Cal Fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
