Highway 41 closes after semi truck carrying pallets of motor oil overturns
A stretch of Highway 41 was closed Sunday morning after a semi-trailer truck carrying motor oil on pallets overturned.
The semi was traveling northbound on Highway 41 just north of Highway 46 about five miles from the Cholame Y when it crashed at 11:22 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident page.
Caltrans closed Highway 41 from the border between Kern and San Luis Obispo counties to a mile north of the junction with Highway 33 in Kings County, according to the agency’s road closure information site.
The CHP said at 5:12 a.m. Sunday there was “no active leak” but the top of the back trailer was split.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, the CHP said.
Cal Fire responded to the scene of the crash along with Caltrans, the CHP and the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department.
