2 people left homeless after mobile-home fire in Nipomo

A fire at an oversized mobile home in rural Nipomo left two people homeless early Friday morning.

The fire was reported about 6:15 a.m. on Division Street near Bonita School Road, according to Cal Fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a double-sized mobile home engulfed in flames.

The fire was fully contained by 8 a.m., and at least half of the structure was destroyed. A Cal Fire spokeswoman said late Friday that the agency was investigating the cause of the fire, and information on the amount of damage caused was not yet available.

No one was injured, and the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

Four Cal Fire engines responded to the incident.
