Grover Beach businesses caught selling tobacco products to minors
Three Grover Beach businesses were caught selling tobacco products to underage customers on Thursday.
Police conducted a tobacco compliance operation — which involved sending underage decoys into stores to purchase tobacco products — at 18 different retail locations, according to a Grover Beach Police Department news release.
Three businesses sold tobacco products to the decoy:
▪ Flyers Gas Station, 684 W. Grand Ave.
▪ Guadalajara Market, 1400 W. Grand Ave.
▪ Express Smoke Shop, 1051 S. 13th St.
California raised the legal age to buy tobacco products from 18 to 21 in 2016.
