Central Coast residents will have the opportunity to register for a TSA Precheck program next month at San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport.

A mobile enrollment RV will be in the airport parking lot Oct. 9-12, offering travelers a chance to cut down on time spent waiting in security lines.

A five-year membership costs $85, and allows members to keep on light jackets, shoes and belts during the airport security process. Members also can keep their laptops and compliant liquids in their bag, according to a news release from airport director Kevin Bumen.

Those interested can visit the mobile enrollment RV from 10 a.m. until noon, and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 9. It also will be open from 9 a.m. until noon, and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 10-12.

To enroll, attendees must bring a government-issued photo ID with proof of U.S. citizenship, and complete a 10-minute fingerprinting process.

Precheck memberships are valid at airports across the country.
