The Alamo Fire is 65 percent contained and decreased slightly to 28,687 acres.

The Alamo Fire is now 60 percent contained. The number of structures burned rose to five. Two were homes and three were other structures.

Acres burned remains at 28,926.

More than 2,200 fire personnel continue to fight the fire burning east of Santa Maria.

Firefighters gained ground on the Alamo Fire east of Santa Maria overnight, pushing containment to 45 percent by 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire, which has burned 28,926 acres and destroyed one home, was 20 percent contained Monday night. Crews expected it would take about two weeks to fully contain.

More than 2,000 personnel are fighting the fire.
