Red-tailed hawk turns kids’ heads at Dana Adobe
Dana Adobe Nature Fest on Sunday featured Zoo to You, a wild animal rescue group; Rancho El Chorro Outdoor School, which brought a red-tailed hawk and snakes; and various activities.
Kids were able to go on a nature walk, make an adobe brick, plant seeds, make a pine cone bird feeder and take pony rides. Artists associated with San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment (SLOPE) painted plein air scenes around the adobe grounds. An orangutan outreach group also gave a talk.
