Teen clothing store closing at Pismo Outlets
Teen fashion retailer Rue21 is closing its location at the Premium Outlets in Pismo Beach.
The company filed for bankruptcy protection in mid-May and announced it would close around 400 of its more than 1,100 stores nationwide, including the San Luis Obispo County location.
In April, Rue21 confirmed the closures in a Facebook post, saying “It’s true — we are closing some stores. It was a difficult but necessary decision.”
The local store is among at least 22 in California believed to be closing, according to USA Today.
A store employee said they expect the store to shut down by July, and a Google search shows a closing date of June 25.
