Like the characters on the show, fans of the Starz period drama “Outlander” appear to relish wine.

A Paso Robles grenache-based blend named for the character Jamie Frazier sold out within a week of going on sale on the website Lot 18. The wine was part of a limited series named for the cult show’s main characters. Three other wines, with only 2,500 bottles of each, were available at Lot 18. As of Wednesday, all were sold out.

Wine plays a prominent part in the series, based on Diana Gabaldon’s novels about a World War II nurse who suddenly finds herself in 1700’s Scotland. It was recently renewed for third and fourth seasons.

Frazier is the Scottish warrior whom nurse Claire meets and is forced to marry in the first season. The blend was the sole Paso wine in the series, and the label likens the grenache base to the character.

“Like Jamie, the varietal is often meant to serve as a humble backbone, yet always manages to stand out as being genuinely special,” it reads.
