SLO County basketball, soccer and wrestling high school playoff matchups announced

The winter high school sports playoff season has arrived — and the seeds and matchups are set.

San Luis Obispo County teams start playoff action this week in CIF-Central Section boys and girls basketball, soccer and wrestling.

Here’s what’s ahead.

Boys basketball

With all games starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, here’s who’s playing this week:

No. 6 Arroyo Grande (16-9) hosts No. 11 Hoover (12-13), of Fresno, in Division 2.

No. 13 Mission Prep (13-13) goes on the road to face No. 4 Liberty (17-7) of Bakersfield in Division 2.

No. 7 Atascadero (13-10) hosts No. 10 Coalinga (26-2) in Division 3.

No. 13 Nipomo (8-21) plays away versus No. 4 Monache (13-13) in Division 4.

Girls basketball

No. 4 Nipomo (22-5) hits the road to face No. 1 Clovis West (25-3) in the Open Division at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Each of the following games starts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday:

No. 2 Morro Bay (17-7) hosts No. 15 Arroyo Grande (11-16) in Division 2.

No. 6 Mission Prep (13-9) hosts No. 11 Hanford (16-9) in Division 2.

No. 14 Paso Robles (14-13) plays away versus No. 3 Porterville (22-4) in Division 2.

No. 13 Templeton (9-9) goes on the road against No. 4 Coalinga (20-6) in Division 4.

Boys Soccer

No. 6 San Luis Obispo (12-4-4) will be on the road versus No. 3 Clovis East (16-4-2), playing Friday at 3:30 p.m., in Division 1.

The following games are all on Wednesday, starting at 6 p.m.:

No. 2 Arroyo Grande (12-6-2) hosts No. 15 Paso Robles (9-13-2) in Division 2.

No. 11 Atascadero (12-10-2) plays away at No. 6 Sunnyside (15-8-1), of Fresno, in Division 3.

No. 8 Templeton (11-9-2) hosts No. 9 McLane (17-10), of Fresno, in Division 4.

No. 11 Mission Prep (12-6) plays away at No. 6 East Bakersfield (14-12-2) in Division 4.

No. 6 Morro Bay (6-9-1) hosts No. 11 Delano (7-19-1) in Division 5.

Girls soccer

No. 5 Arroyo Grande (16-6-2) plays away at No. 4 Redwood (17-0-2) of Visalia in Division 1 on Thursday at 6 pm.

No. 13 Atascadero (7-7-3) goes on the road to face Clovis East (10-11-3) in Division 2 on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The following games all are on Tuesday at 6 p.m.:

No. 16 Paso Robles (7-12) plays away at No. 1 Sanger (20-5-1) in Division 2.

No. 2 San Luis Obispo (10-6-4) hosts Central (7-14-2) in Division 2.

No. 2 Nipomo (14-4-3) hosts No. 15 East Bakersfield (19-6-1) in Division 3.

No. 4 Templeton (11-7) hosts No. 13 Sierra Pacific (14-5-2) in Division 3.

No. 14 Morro Bay (8-10) plays away at No. 3 Ridgeview (10-9-3) of Bakersfield in Division 4.

No. 8 Mission Prep (6-10) hosts No. 9 Sunnyside (7-10-3) in Division 5.

Boys wrestling

The upcoming Masters wrestling tournament, a qualifier for state tournament competition, will be held this weekend, according to the CIF-Central Section.

The boys tournament will be Friday and Saturday at North High School in Bakersfield.

Athletes who qualified will compete in various weight classes.

Girls wrestling

The Masters tournament for girls wrestling will be Saturday at Lemoore High School.

Girls wrestlers from various local teams have qualified and will compete in respective weight classes.

The state tournament for boys and girls wrestling will be held Feb. 24-26 at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield.
