You may vote as many times as you wish to support your selection for The Tribune’s Athlete of the Week.

After nearly 20,000 votes came in, last week’s winner was Stevie Waiters of Atascadero High School boys basketball, who received 12,325 votes (62% of the overall tally).

Grant Callahan, of Mission Prep boys basketball, garnered 4,154 votes (21%) and Kacie Slover, of Nipomo girls basketball, had 3,151 votes (16%).

Coaches, parents or students may nominate an athlete for next week’s prep poll by emailing nwilson@thetribunenews.com.

Please write “Athlete of the Week nominee” in the subject line. Nominations in any winter sport are welcome.

Those nominating are asked to provide full player name and school, any key stats and the result of the game. Polls will post weekly on Tuesdays through the end of the school year.
