When the NFL didn’t work out, this former Cal Poly star went north of the border

Former Cal Poly football player Josh Letuligasenoa signed a free-agent contract with the Green Bay Packers last summer after going undrafted and spent the preseason trying to earn a roster spot.

He had eight tackles in four preseason games, but he was cut before the start of the 2017 NFL season.

But Letuligasenoa isn’t ready to give up on his professional football dreams yet. The 24-year-old linebacker/defensive lineman from Sacramento signed a two-year contract to join the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, Cal Poly announced Tuesday.

Letuligasenoa finished second for Cal Poly with 66 tackles during the 2016 season and led the team with 3.5 sacks.

Cameron Ontko, another former Cal Poly linebacker, played in the CFL for the Saskatchewan Roughriders last summer.

Letuligasenoa will report to mini-camp in April in Florida. Montreal begins its 2018 season on June 16.
