Culture of death is so pervasive in society today

The juxtaposition of Angie King’s and Genevieve Czech’s letters (“Be active to support a woman’s right to choose” and “California creates a culture of death”) on Jan. 22 was masterful. The culture of death so pervasive in society today starts with dehumanizing any human being, and then it claims legitimacy to pass judgment of the worth of any inconvenient human life. The Nazis were experts at this.

A human baby in its mother’s womb is a human being. It is not raw material for spare parts to be harvested and sold. King extols “a woman’s right to chose,” and yet she doesn’t state what “right” the woman is choosing. Legal abortion is the “right” to kill a human being without legal penalty. King extols her redefinition of human worth, and she and her cohorts are effective. Czech’s letter expertly states the natural consequences of devaluing any human life as the old, the infirm, the physically compromised can be classified as “inconvenient” and done away with (legally). We can get on with our lives that are more and more devoid of what makes us human — compassion, dignity, worthiness, “Creatures endowed by their Creator to Life.”

Fifty percent of babies are female. King judges they are of no value. When was she appointed czar of the universe and exalted champion of all things female?
