Government benefits don’t care if you’re liberal or conservative
In reading Ed Bogusch’s letter regarding his comments about sponging off his fellow citizens (“Baby boomer wonders what it’s like being a liberal Democrat,” June 29), he asked if “a liberal” could change his mind. As an aging baby boomer myself, I have a question for him: Is he planning on receiving Social Security and/or Medicare at age 65?
If so, then he, too, will join the ranks of those who “feel good” about government benefits. Neither of those programs care whether he is a liberal Democrat or a conservative Republican. The benefits are the same for one and all.
