Baby boomer wonders what it’s like being a liberal Democrat

As an aging baby boomer, maybe I should become a liberal Democrat so I too can feel good about sponging off my fellow citizens. But somehow I just can't bring myself to do it. Perhaps a liberal out there can try to change my mind?
