Matthew Hoy is wrong: We need a true progressive movement
Matthew Hoy suggests that those who did not support Trump (the majority of voters) should be more like the GOP (“Democrats and the news media don’t want to learn anything from the election,” Dec. 3). As in, limited to the backwards perspective of a stereotypical white, nonimmigrant, heterosexual, male voter over 30 years old.
That’s how we got here, the dying gasp of privilege and power that never represented all Americans. The only hope for the current state of American politics is true opposition by a progressive movement that is not intimidated by hate and authoritarianism.
Mr. Hoy, more of the same is the absolute last thing we need.
