50-something SLO resident sees strength in Trump resistance

Bloomberg

As a 50-something woman, I feel sick as our nation devolves into old and dangerous ideas.

With this zealot having both the House and the Senate, these greedy men will deregulate industry and smoke cigars while our waters are poisoned, our air becomes as thick as China’s and our children all have lymphoma. And the hits just keep coming: With policies of hate, this administration will encourage abuse of people’s rights as they sit in fat-man pants in rooms of gold, drinking Champagne they bought with money they stole from programs that feed children.

Sadly, this man will be president, even if just for a little while. But people are closing freeways and city streets, and on Nov. 10 I marched with my daughter in downtown San Luis Obispo to send a message. We are saying Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, so choose wisely, you fearmongers and liars of the elite class. Be cautious who you defund and who you hate, because we will take to the streets, hire the best lawyers and plug up your system. We will do what it takes to protect this nation, our children, this planet — because we are many, we are educated and we are watching.

Nancy Bodily, San Luis Obispo
