Freeze watch issued for parts of SLO County. Here’s how cold it will get
Dust off your caps and mittens: Below-freezing temperatures are blowing into San Luis Obispo County this week.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze watch for SLO County’s interior valleys.
From Thursday night to Friday morning, temperatures could drop to 28 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service.
Local communities impacted by the freeze watch include Atascadero, Lake Nacimiento, Paso Robles, San Miguel, Templeton, Carrizo Plain, Creston and Shandon, according to the agency.
The freeze watch also applies to the Cuyama Valley, parts of Los Angeles County, Santa Barbara County and Ventura County, the National Weather Service said.
The National Weather Service warned that frost “could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.” It recommends that folks allow for extra time to defrost their windshields and protect their outdoor plants.
