Strong storm system headed to SLO County. When will rain start?
After an extended dry spell, wet weather is expected to drench most of San Luis Obispo County this week.
The first strong system in more than a month will start to descend on Tuesday, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Ryan Kittell.
He said it’s likely to be “a well-behaved system,” resulting in about an inch of precipitation across the county.
While there are no major flooding concerns ahead of the storm, Kittell said slippery roads could cause increased traffic.
“It will also be really windy,” he told The Tribune, predicting that gusty southernly winds around 30 to 50 mph will blow through the county.
The strong winds could result in downed trees and power lines, especially in hilly areas where gusts could blow over 60 mph, Kittell said.
