More rain is on the way to SLO County. Here’s when and how much
More rain is headed to San Luis Obispo County after a multi-day stretch of atmospheric river storms dumped more than 6 inches of precipitation on some local spots.
An upcoming pair of winter storms could bring another inch of precipitation to parts of the county over the New Year’s holiday, according to the National Weather Service.
But these systems are not expected to bring “crazy rain,” flooding or high winds, Mike Wofford, a National Weather Service meteorologist, told The Tribune.
However, the wet weather could dampen some New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day plans.
There’s still some uncertainty around the timing of the upcoming storms, “but in any case, it does look like 2026 will start off wet,” the National Weather Service’s forecast discussion said.
