Freeze warning issued for parts of SLO County

Temperatures could dip as low as 28 to 30 degrees overnight Tuesday in parts of San Luis Obispo County’, the weather service said.

The warning will be in place from 1 to 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, the advisory said.

Which cities could see below-freezing temperatures?

Areas affected by the freeze warning include the cities of Paso Robles, Atascadero, Creston, San Miguel, Shandon and Templeton, according to the weather service.

Lake Nacimiento and the Carrizo Plain area could also be affected, the federal agency said.

The weather agency warned that frost and freezing conditions could destroy crops and kill other sensitive vegetation.

“Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold,” the National Weather Service said.

Unprotected outdoor plumbing could also be damaged by icy temperatures, the alert said.
