Stormy weather returning to SLO County — and some spots could see more than 5 inches of rain
Say goodbye to the sunshine, San Luis Obispo County.
The National Weather Service predicts the Central Coast could see rain starting as early as Tuesday evening — with heavier precipitation beginning Friday evening.
A tiny amount of rain may fall in the county Tuesday evening, amounting to less than 0.1 inches, the Weather Service predicted as of Tuesday morning.
Wednesday could bring clouds and another slight chance of a small amount of rain, while Thursday will likely just be cloudy with no rainfall in the county, according to the Weather Service.
Things could change on Friday, the Weather Service said.
A cloudy day may be followed by a rainy evening, with precipitation expected to fall throughout the weekend into Monday, according to the Weather Service.
“The preliminary rainfall forecast for the Friday through Monday timeframe (subject to frequent revision) call for 1 to 2 inches with 2 to 4 inches across the southwest facing slopes and 5+ inches over NW SLO County,” the Weather Service wrote in its forecast Tuesday morning.
The heaviest rainfall could occur on Sunday, according to the Weather Service.
