Paso Robles breaks heat record 2 days in a row. Here’s what to expect this week
One city in San Luis Obispo County experienced record-breaking heat on Saturday — and more heat is coming later this week.
Paso Robles Municipal Airport reported a high temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday — breaking a daily record of 103 degrees set in 2019, PG&E meterologist John Lindsey said via Twitter.
Paso Robles hit 106 degrees on Friday, breaking a daily temperature record set more than 30 years ago. No other SLO County cities had broken heat records as of Friday.
Lindsey said temperatures in Paso Robles were expected to cool down by about 10 to 15 degrees Sunday and Monday, but more hot weather will follow later in the week.
According to Lindsey, highs in SLO County could reach the triple digits on Wednesday and Thursday.
Paso Robles is expected to see 101 degrees on Wednesday and 98 degrees on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the agency’s Oxnard office, Central Coast beaches in the region are expected to reach 75 to 85 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday. Inland areas of San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County, including valleys and mountains, are forecast to reach 95 to 100 degrees.
Paso Robles also hit 106 degrees on Friday, breaking a more than 30-year-old daily record, The Tribune reported.
