While a flooded house is a surefire way to have a memorable holiday, sandbags can help protect your home from major damage during the upcoming winter storm.
There are locations throughout the county where residents can purchase sandbags or fill existing sandbags. The San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services advises residents to bring their own bags and shovels to sand distribution locations. Burlap bags and shovels can be purchased at most hardware stores.
Where to buy sandbags and shovels in San Luis Obispo County
At most sand distribution centers, you will need to bring your own sandbags, shovel and twine. Here are some locations in the county where you can purchase these items. Likely other hardware stores, home centers and retail outlets will carry sandbags and shovels.
The Tribune called to confirm what’s in stock at these locations as of Tuesday at 2 p.m. Supply cycles in and out of stock so what’s available may have changed.
