After one of the most energetic northwesterly wind events in years on Sunday, a dry and warmer weather is on tap later this week, followed by a chance of a wet weather pattern developing by Feb. 9, 10 and 11.

Fresh gale-force to strong gale-force (39 to 54 mph with gusts up to 65 mph) northwesterly winds along the coastline on Sunday afternoon into Monday morning.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies and much cooler weather will develop on Sunday into Tuesday. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will only reach the mid- to high 50s.

Winds are not expected to be as strong or widespread on Monday, but localized gusts up to 40 mph are possible during the day.

Winds will diminish overnight into Tuesday as another chilly night is expected. Lows will dip back into the 30s to low 40s with a few sheltered locations possibly seeing temperatures in the upper 20s. Cool and dry weather continues through the day with highs in the 50s.

A passing system could bring some partly cloudy skies to the Central Coast into Wednesday. Otherwise, fair, dry and milder weather will develop through the end of the week.

The model runs are indicating a chance of a wet weather pattern developing on Feb. 9, 10 and 11.
