Election guide 2024: Who’s running for mayor, City Council in San Luis Obispo?
It’s election season once again here in San Luis Obispo.
This November, voters within the city will elect a mayor as well as two City Council members — and all three of those races have challengers for the seats.
In those races, the City Clerk is expected to publish an official notice of nominees on Aug. 22.
Meanwhile, there is only one contested race at the San Luis Coastal Unified School District.
Voters in San Luis Obispo will elect a school board trustee for District 6, which encompasses the Sinsheimer and Los Ranchos areas.
Races for District 3 and District 7 — also both in the San Luis Obispo area — were uncontested, meaning the sole candidates won the trustee seats by default.
Those were incumbent Chris Ungar for District 3 and businessman Brian Clausen for District 7.
