‘Stressed’ Amazon worker dumps dozens of packages in the woods, MA officials say
Dozens of Amazon packages were found in a wooded area in Massachusetts before an Amazon worker said he dumped them because he was stressed.
On Dec. 22, a Lakeville Police Department sergeant was patrolling when he came across items in a wooded area, according to a news release. After looking further, he found three large totes of Amazon packages “spread out several feet into the woods.”
About 80 packages were found, authorities said.
The next day, an Amazon driver went to the police station and reported leaving packages on the side of a road Dec. 21, police said. The driver said they left the packages because they were stressed.
The driver said they planned to inform their manager.
A representative with Amazon told McClatchy News in an email that the company encourages drivers to report to their employers if they aren’t able to complete their routes.
She also said all of the packages were delivered before Christmas.
Police are not filing criminal charges.
Lakeville is about a 60-mile drive south from Boston.
