Man with gun, meth arrested near downtown SLO, police say

A San Luis Obispo Police Department officer stopped a 39-year-old driver and arrested him after allegedly finding a revolver and methamphetamine in his car on Thursday.

Thirty-nine-year-old Lucas Hay was stopped for an open case compliance check near the intersection of Peach Street and Santa Rosa Street, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department’s Facebook.

While searching Hay, the officer found two methamphetamine pipes, a small amount of meth and a .22 caliber revolver, the Police Department said.

Hay was arrested and booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of charges of carrying a concealed firearm, being a person with a felony conviction in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm, possession of paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

As of Monday, Hay was still in custody with bail set at $30,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office’s Who’s in Custody website.
