A bank in Paso Robles was robbed on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Police Department.

The suspect entered the Wells Fargo on Spring Street and handed a note to a bank employee, Cmdr. Ricky Lehr told The Tribune.

The teller handed over money, although the exact amount was unknown as of Wednesday afternoon, Lehr said.

The Paso Robles Police Department investigated the scene of the robbery, Lehr said.

Emergency radio traffic described the suspect as a Hispanic male, around 5-foot-7, wearing a black hat, a black-and-white bandanna, a long-sleeved construction shirt and jeans.

He also had what was described as a “tribal tattoo” near his left eye.

He may have gotten into a silver SUV driven by a female heading northbound on Spring Street.

After the robbery, the lobby of the bank was closed with signs posted on the windows. The ATMs were still open.

“We are unexpectedly closed due to an emergency and will reopen as soon as possible,” the sign said.

No further information could be shared, according to Lehr.
