The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a suspected burglar on Friday after a residential burglary was reported earlier in the week.

Patrol officers responded to a reported residential burglary on June 16 near Carpenter Street and Hathway Avenue in San Luis Obispo, according to a news release from the Police Department.

During the investigation, David Hull, a resident of Atascadero, was identified by detectives. On Friday, detectives, SLO County Probation and the Atascadero Police Department conducted a probation compliance search of Hull’s residence and vehicles.

Hull was arrested on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest and probation violation charges. He was in custody in the SLO County Jail as of Monday afternoon, according to the SLO Sheriff’s Office’s Who’s in Custody website.

The case is still active, the release said, and may be related to other recent burglaries or thefts in the area.

To share any information related to Hull or recent thefts, reach out to Detective J. Koznek by phone at 805-594-8005 or email jkoznek@slocity.org.
