Teen shot in finger in Pismo Beach last year. Police just arrested suspects
The Pismo Beach Police Department arrested two people on Thursday suspected of shooting a teen boy in the hand in December.
On Dec. 28, three people confronted a 14-year-old boy about his necklace near the pedestrian tunnel connecting Bello and Price streets at about 12:15 p.m., police said
The suspects allegedly “forcibly removed” the necklace from the teen’s neck, the release said. Then, someone shot the teen in the finger, injuring him.
Police later identified three Santa Maria residents as suspects in the shooting: Gregorio Morales, 22, Noel Martinez Garcia, 20, and Jaime Manuel Jr., 20.
“The use of city surveillance cameras and license plate readers played a key role in assisting detectives with the identification of the suspects,” the release said.
On Thursday, Pismo Beach Police Department detectives, the San Luis Obispo Regional SWAT Team and the Santa Maria Police Department SWAT Team served arrest warrants and three residential search warrants.
Then, police arrested Garcia and Manuel.
The men were booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail without bail on suspicion of alleged assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and conspiracy, police said.
Morales was already in custody on unrelated charges, the release said.
The Santa Maria Police Department assisted the Pismo Beach Police Department with the investigation.
