The San Luis Obispo Police Department announced it had identified the person in its investigation of a suspicious death in February.

It deleted a Facebook post and thanked the public for their help.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is seeking the community’s help identifying a person as part of an investigation into a suspicious death.

The death of 50-year-old unhoused San Luis Obispo resident Veronica Beatrice Baro was reported to the police on Feb. 12 after her body was found in “an advanced stage of decomposition,” according to a news release at the time.

The cause of death was listed as unknown, prompting police to consider her death suspicious and open an investigation.

Police are now seeking the public’s help identifying a woman who may be linked to the death, according to a post on X from the department on Wednesday morning.

Anyone who may be able to identify the woman, who was seen with long blond hair, black clothing and glasses on security camera footage, can contact Det. Koznek at 805-594-8005 or Crime Stoppers at 805-549-7867.
