20-year-old arrested after hit-and-run in SLO injures 2 women, police say

A 20-year-old San Luis Obispo resident was arrested after a hit-and-run crash that left two pedestrians injured.

According to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department, officers responded to a hit-and-run report on Thursday night around 9:31 p.m.

Two 20-year-old women had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the 100 block of Crandall Way, and the driver of the vehicle had left the scene, the release said.

The victims were both transported to a hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to the release, witnesses to the incident described the suspect’s vehicle as a dark gray Tesla Model 3. The suspected vehicle was located early Friday morning in the 3000 block of McCollum Street.

Ishan Pandhare, 20, was arrested and subsequently booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on two felony hit-and-run charges, the release said.

The incident was still under investigation as of Friday evening, according to police.
