Highway 101 ramps to close in SLO County. Here’s when and where
Heads up, San Luis Obispo County drivers.
The California Department of Transportation will soon close a couple of Highway 101 ramps as crews continue work on a major infrastructure improvement project.
Here’s what to know:
When and where are Highway 101 off-ramp closures?
Two Highway 101 ramps in Arroyo Grande will close starting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, Caltrans said in a news release.
Crews will shut down the Grand Avenue on-ramp to southbound Highway 101, as well as the southbound freeway exit onto Fair Oaks Avenue, Caltrans said.
The closures will be in effect for a week, the state road agency said.
What detour can I take to avoid roadwork?
Drivers exiting Highway 101 can avoid roadwork by taking the Halcyon Road or Grand Avenue exits to reach Fair Oaks Avenue, according to Caltrans.
Why are SLO County freeway ramps closing?
The Arroyo Grande ramp closures are part of a $32 million infrastructure project to improve a stretch of Highway 101 extending from Pismo Beach to Nipomo.
“This project will rehabilitate pavement and drainage systems, designate bikeways with pavement delineation, and importantly, enhance highway worker safety,” Caltrans said in the release.
