Mother and baby hide after hearing intruder trying to break into their CA home
A woman who fled and hid with her baby after hearing someone trying to break into her Bradley home is safe after a neighbor chased off the intruder.
A suspect was apprehended and arrested soon after.
CHP and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the man — identified later as 33-year-old Junior Trino Godine of Pacoima — with the help of the neighbor, CHP’s H-70 helicopter and county parks rangers, among others.
In the course of the arrest in southern Monterey County, the suspect, who was on probation, also was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun.
Woman grabbed baby and hid on property
The woman was home alone with her baby when she heard someone trying to break through a window into her home in the 65000 block of Bradley Road.
She grabbed the child and fled at about 11 a.m, hiding on the property and then calling for help.
The woman’s husband notified a neighbor, who found a subject at the residence. The subject then left the area.
Soon thereafter, CHP found the man and vehicle at a nearby bridge. The neighbor identified the suspect as the person who had tried to break into the home.
Deputies arrested Godine and booked him into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of attempted burglary, possession of a concealed firearm and probation violation.
