A San Luis Obispo County couple has been charged with 20 child sex crimes — including child molestation and sodomy.
Jazmyn Elain Sheetermedina, 29, and Tristan Paul Naylor, 28, were both charged on Thursday with 13 counts of lewd acts upon a child under 14, two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object of a child between the ages of 10 and 14, and five child pornography charges.
According to the complaints, the alleged crimes occurred between January 2022 and February of this year.
San Luis Obispo County Assistant District Attorney Eric Dobroth told The Tribune that Sheetermedina and Naylor were in a romantic relationship.
The couple allegedly possessed more than 600 images of minors engaging in sexual conduct and portraying sexual sadism and masochism, court documents said. Ten or more of those images involved a prepubescent minor and a minor under 12 years old, the documents said.
The District Attorney’s Office further alleged the couple had the child pornography in their possession to sell commercially and did distribute some images of child pornography.
The couple was arrested by the Atascadero Police Department on Wednesday, according to San Luis Obispo County Jail records.
Bail for Sheetermedina and Naylor was set at $2 million each, court records show.
Sheetermedina was still in jail custody as of Monday, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office inmate database. San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow confirmed Naylor was also in jail custody.
The next court hearing in both cases was scheduled for Thursday.
